Bette Davis was born Ruth Elizabeth Davis, on April 5, 1908. She transitioned from dance to acting and made her Broadway debut in 1929. Bette Davis was hired by Universal in the 1930s and made her first film, "Way Back Home," in 1931. She later signed a seven-year deal with Warner Brothers, but she later left for England and sued in an attempt to get out of her contract. After the lawsuit, she co-starred alongside Henry Fonda in "Jezebel." Bette Davis died in 1989.
