The Siberian husky grows to 20 to 23.5 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs 30 to 60 pounds. Females are generally smaller than males, with top weights of around 42 pounds.
The Siberian husky is a medium-sized working dog known for its intelligence, strength and ability to run for miles. Colors range from black to pure white, and huskies' thick coats require weekly grooming. Although these dogs aren't overly aggressive and do well with children and other dogs, they are difficult to train, can be destructive and have a reputation for escaping. Huskies are unsuitable as watchdogs or for apartment living and novice dog owners, and they require obedience training.
