The Curiosity Rover is approximately 10 feet in length and nine feet wide. It is about seven feet tall. Weighing 1,982 pounds, the Curiosity Rover is both the largest and heaviest rover to land on Mars.
The main goal of the Curiosity Rover is to look for signs that Mars supported life in the past. It has a high-resolution camera for taking color pictures of the surface of Mars and two additional cameras to aid in navigation. The rover also has an imaging device designed to take pictures of magnified objects as small as 12.5 microns, which helps scientists determine the geological history of the planet.
