Venus is just slightly smaller than the Earth, with a radius of about 3,760 miles and a circumference a little over 23,627 miles. These measurements make Venus about 94 percent of the size of the Earth, although it is only about 82 percent as voluminous.
Venus contains over 1,000 volcanic sites measuring at least 12 miles in diameter, and its largest land mass is about the same size as South America. Its tallest mountain, Maxwell Mons, is about as high as Mount Everest. Venus' deepest known point in the canyon of the Diana Chasma descends 1.8 miles below surface level.
