How big do Yorkies grow?

The most common weight for a Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie, is 10 pounds. The overall acceptable weight range for a Yorkie is between 6 and 20 pounds.

The Yorkie is considered a small dog breed. Originally used for catching rats and mice in textile mills, Yorkies are energetic and inquisitive. These dogs have long, silky fur, and owners often put the dog's forehead fur in top-knots to keep it out of its eyes. While Yorkies often have a shimmering, reddish overall tone, the American Kennel Club recognizes only four color sets for true Yorkies. Yorkies come in black and gold, black and tan, blue and gold or blue and tan.
