Where is bile secreted?

Bile is secreted by the liver, which is the largest organ in the body. Bile helps in the digestion of food and the elimination of waste from the body. It is a dark green liquid that is stored in the gallbladder and then released into the duodenum.
The gallbladder is next to the liver, and the duodenum connects the stomach to the small intestine. About 600 to 900 milliliters of bile is secreted every day. The gallbladder can store very little of the bile, but it processes the bile quickly. This process takes place continuously. Bile is acidic and helps to dissolve the fats in the food.
