Why is bilingual education important?

Bilingual education helps children enhance their skills, establish a sense of identity and prepares them well for their futures. Those who speak more than one language may be paid a higher salary than those who don't, according to the National Latino Children's Institute.
At a young age, children learn basic fundamentals of their native language. Applying these while learning a new language can help expand their knowledge and overall linguistic skills.
Knowing how to write and speak in a second language can expand future career opportunities for children. As the business world becomes more global, having extensive linguistic knowledge and experience will be required.
