Why is biomass important?

By Forinfos - 04/09/2025 - 0 comments

Biomass is a biological material that is an important energy source for humans. It is composed of a mixture of organic molecules including carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and alkaline earth metals. It is constantly being created by living organisms around the world and can be broken down to produce energy.

Biomass is a renewable energy source that reduces carbon emissions and can be good for the environment. As a fuel source, biomass can help create steam and electricity and help fuel vehicles. Biomass isn't completely environmentally friendly, though. While it doesn't produce carbon emissions when combusted, it does still produce nitrogen emissions which can also contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer.
