What is the birth stone for the month of November?

Topaz and Citrine are both generally accepted gemstones for November birthdays. Topaz comes in a variety of colors, including orange, yellow, blue, pink, purple and the highly sought after Imperial topaz, which is orange with pink undertones. Citrine comes in varying shades of orange.

The modern practice of wearing gemstones that correlate to the wearer's month of birth dates as far back as 18th century Poland. However, the modern list of months and their corresponding gemstones wasn't officially defined until 1912 by the National Association of Jewelers in the USA. The list remained virtually unchanged until the American Gem Trade Association announced the addition of Tanzanite to the list in 2002.
