How do I block unwanted phone calls on my landline?

There are several ways to block unwanted phone calls to a landline phone. Calling features can also be used to block incoming calls. If the problem is with telemarketing calls, a phone number can be added to the National Do-Not-Call Registry.

1. Use anonymous call rejection

   Use anonymous call rejection to stop calls from anonymous and private numbers. This will not prevent calls from numbers that display "out of area" or "unavailable."

2. Block specific phone numbers

   Use call rejection to block specific phone numbers. This service is ordered through the provider and can block up to 10 numbers once active.

3. Remove the phone listing from directories

   Contact the service provider to remove the phone number from directory assistance and/or the published phone book.
