The blower motor relay on a Jeep Wrangler is located behind the passenger dashboard. Accessing the relay requires removing the kick panel and part of the passenger dashboard.
Accessing the resistor is a fairly simple process and should take under an hour to complete. The following instructions explain how to safely replace a blower motor relay.
- Disconnect the battery
- Remove the kick panel
- Remove the relay
- Replace the unit
Open the hood and disconnect the battery to avoid any accidental shocks.
The kick panel is found under the passenger dash board. Loosen and remove the 8 mm bolts that hold it in place.
The relay, also know as a resistor, will be easily visible. Loosen the 8 mm bolts that secure it and unclip the unit from the housing.
Replace the relay and reinstall it. Then reconnect the kick panel.
