Take the Basic Life Support written exam for health care providers online at NationalCPRFoundation.com. The exam is free and allows an unlimited number of attempts.

On NationalCPRFoundation.com, select the course for Basic Life Support. Click Skip to Exam, then enter your first and last name to begin the exam. After passing the online exam, you receive a certificate and temporary wallet card via email. A free vinyl wallet card is mailed to you within 5 business days.

The site also offers a free online course with 15 modules to help prepare for the exam. The certification is AHA and ECC compliant, valid for 2 years and costs $19.95, as of 2015.
