The bottom of the ocean is known as the hadalpelagic zone and extends from 19,686 feet to the bottom of the ocean floor. This area is found in canyons and deep-water trenches, and the deepest part is found in the Marianas trench.
There are five different layers of the ocean known as zones. These are the epipelagic zone, mesopelagic zone, bathypelagic zone, abyssopelagic zone and hadalpelagic zone. The temperature in the hadalpelagic zone is constantly right above freezing. It holds foraminifera, a species of plankton, that are small single-celled organisms. Starfish and tube worms can also live in this zone.
