What is the bougainvillea flower?

Bougainvillea flowers are small tubes that open to reveal white flowers. The leaves surrounding the flower (bracts) can be lavender, orange, purple, red or yellow in color.

It grows from 15 to 25 feet in height 25 to 35 feet in width. The Bougainvillea can be pruned to grow as a tree or shrub, and it should be pruned after it has flowered. The stems of the Bougainvillea are covered in sharp thorns.
