What is a bower vine?

The bower vine, or Pandorea jasminoides, is a woody-stemmed flowering vine native to Australia, according to Floridata. It has aromatic flowers and does well in containers.

A bower vine has lance-shaped evergreen leaves and clustered tubular flowers in red or pink. It is hardy in USDA Hardiness Zones of 8 and 9. The bower vine prefers to grow in full to filtered sun and well-drained soil that is moist. Propagate the vine by cuttings or by layering. It makes a great vine for trellises and for use on arbors. The bower vine grows very fast and can be susceptible to nematodes.
