How is a Brazilian wax different than a bikini wax?
By Forinfos - 30/01/2026 - 0 comments
A bikini wax removes only the pubic hair that shows while wearing a bikini swimsuit, while a Brazilian removes all of the public hair, from navel to buttocks. A bikini wax can be performed while still in one's underwear, while a Brazilian requires nudity below the waist.
The Brazilian wax is also sometimes called the sphinx (after the breed of hairless cat) or Hollywood wax. Brazilians are also available in "modified" form, where the aesthetician will leave a small strip of hair, called a "landing strip." Another option is to leave a small triangle or V of hair in the front.
