The dimensions for a standard brick in the United States are 8 inches long by 2.25 inches wide, with a bed depth of 3.63 inches. This standard is set and controlled by the American Society for Testing and Materials.
Face brick, or brick that is used on the outside of a house, varies greatly in standard size from country to country. Other popular brick sizes include modular, jumbo modular, jumbo standard and queen. These brick sizes range from about 4.1 to 5.9 pounds each, with the bed depth remaining largely the same. The major exception to this is the queen brick, which has a decreased bed depth of 3.125 inches.
