What is a BSN degree?

By Forinfos - 14/02/2025 - 0 comments

A BSN degree is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. It typically takes 4 years to complete a BSN degree, although some schools offer accelerated programs of 18 to 21 months to students who have a bachelor's degree in another field. An alternative degree is the ADN, or associate degree in nursing, which generally takes 2 years to complete.

Completion of either the ADN or BSN qualifies a student to take the exam to become a Registered Nurse. Courses in both programs can include adult health, pediatrics, community health nursing and maternal health. BSN degree programs include additional coursework in nursing informatics and nursing research.
