A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is the same as a BS degree with a major in nursing. The degree program is accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
BSN degrees are an advanced degree in the nursing field that help prepare nurses to meet the demands of the hospital environment today. The degree program helps develop essential leadership, critical thinking, health promotion and case management skills. In addition, graduates of a BSN program focus on establishing their ability to work in both inpatient and outpatient programs. Prior to joining the workforce, all graduates of a BSN program must sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing examination.
