What is a Build-A-Bear birth certificate?

A Build-A-Bear birth certificate is a document one is given upon "building" a bear or other stuffed animal at Build-A-Bear Workshop. It includes information about the animal, such as name, birthdate, height, weight, eye and fur color and the owner's name.

Build-A-Bear Workshop opened in 1997 and has over 400 stores as of 2014. At Build-A-Bear, children of all ages can create and customize a new best friend. They pick out the body of a bear or animal, put a heart in it and use a machine to pump stuffing into it. Afterwards, one can purchase clothing and other accessories for his or her new furry friend. Build-A-Bear also offers parties for birthdays, field trips and other group outings.
