Are there built-in microwaves that don't go over the stove?

Several types of microwaves allow the unit to be built-in without being mounted over the stove. Built-in microwaves cost significantly more than conventional countertop models, with prices ranging from $500 to $5,000 as of 2015. They require duct work for venting.

Traditional microwaves, which open with a door that swings out, mount between cabinets or next to a wall with trim applied around the face giving the appearance that they are built-in. Built-in models are literally built into the cabinets and often have a door that opens down like that of a conventional oven. Drawer-style microwaves can be installed beneath a counter or into a wall and slide open like a drawer.
