Burrata is an Italian cheese made from cream and mozzarella. It has a solid outer curd shell made of buffalo or cow's milk mozzarella and a soft, milky inside consisting of curd and fresh cream.
Burrata cheese originated in Italy's Apulia region and is traditionally wrapped in asphodel leaves when sold. It is porcelain white with a delicate creamy texture and a milky, buttery flavor. Burrata is generally served at room temperature within 48 hours, and is a common addition to salads, breads, herbs and cured meats. People can also use it on burgers, pizzas, pastas and with berries and seasonings.
