How do you access your Social Security statements?

Anyone can view their Social Security statements on the Social Security Administration (SSA) website. Statements are only available to those over 18 years old with a Social Security number, a United States mailing address and valid identification, notes the SSA.
The Social Security Administration starts mailing statements to workers at 25 years of age, and every 5 years after that until the worker retires. However, workers may want to access their statements before the minimum mailing age or between those 5-year mailings. This is possible by logging into the worker's Social Security account at the Social Security Administration website, notes the SSA.
- Create an online account
- Click on "Statement"
- Download the statement
Visit the Social Security website and click on "Sign In." Enter existing account log-in information or click "Create Account." Users need to enter their personal information and verify it to create the account. Log into the account when finished.
Click on "Statement" to open a copy of the current Social Security statement. This should show the user's average yearly income, credits earned and estimated monthly payments.
Click on the "Download" icon to save a PDF version of the Social Security statement. Users can keep this file on their computers or print out a copy for their files.
