The minimum age to receive a Teamster pension is 50 years old. However, a couple of exceptions exist that make someone younger eligible for benefits, according to the Teamsters website.
Benefits start for an employee of any age if 25 benefit years or 30 vested years of service have passed, explains the Teamsters. These employees must no longer work as part of covered employment. Also, they must not work as part of suspendible employment in excess of 64 hours in any one month. Provided these conditions exist, a former Teamster receives pension benefits at any age. An easily obtained application starts the process to receive Teamster pension payments for qualifying recipients.
