How do new employees introduce themselves?

New employees can send out a friendly sounding email to introduce themselves to coworkers. In the email, they can invite colleagues to drop by, email or call if they have any questions.

Sometimes, the company will send out a group email informing everyone of who the new person is and what the new person's responsibilities will be in the company. On an individual level, inviting a coworker to lunch is a smart way to get to know the person better, and to perhaps learn something more about the company. If they happen to get into an elevator with an employee they haven't met, new employees should make direct eye contact and, with a firm handshake, briefly introduce themselves, and let the person know what department they work in and what they do exactly.
