By Forinfos - 16/12/2025 - 0 comments
One tablespoon of cocoa powder contains approximately 12 milligrams of caffeine. One cup of chocolate milk contains approximately five milligrams of caffeine while one ounce of semisweet chocolate has about 18 milligrams of caffeine in it.
Eating chocolate for its caffeine content does not compare to drinking coffee for the same purpose, especially when it comes to espresso, according to WebMD. While two ounces of chocolate (two thirds the size of a standard three ounce bar) contains only 36 milligrams of caffeine, one cup of coffee contains 138 milligrams of caffeine. In drinking only one quarter cup of espresso, one consumes 125 milligrams of caffeine.
