How do you calculate the surface area of a hexagonal pyramid?
By Forinfos - 09/12/2025 - 0 comments
A hexagonal pyramid's surface area is given by 3ab + 3bs; where "s" is the slant height, "b" is the base length and "a" is the pyramid's apothem length. A hexagonal pyramid is sometimes referred to as a heptahedron; it has a hexagonal base and six triangular lateral faces.
The surface area is calculated by adding the base area to the total area of all the triangular faces of the pyramid. If the slant height is not provided, it can be calculated using the Pythagorean Theorem. Other common pyramid types include a square pyramid (four faces), triangular pyramid (three faces) and pentagonal pyramid (five faces).
