The ideal camcorder to use while filming sports is one that has a large optical zoom lens, low-light capabilities and image stabilization. These three things allow a user to capture the action, especially when filming indoor sports where lighting is less abundant.

The best camcorders for sports will also have manual aperture control, a lens hood (especially for outdoor shooting) and the ability to shoot in higher frames per second.
