Camping is allowed throughout the redwood forests of the Redwood National and State Parks. The parks have more than 300 campsites, which are located in Del Norte and Humboldt counties in northern California.
During the summer, reservations are recommended for camping in the Jedediah Smith, Mill Creek and Elk Prairie Campgrounds. The rest of the year, the sites are available on a first come, first served basis. Fees are required, but discounts are available. Facilities include restrooms, hot showers, food lockers, picnic tables and barbecue grills. Available activities include swimming, fishing, hiking and ranger-led programs. Back country camping is allowed in designated areas.
