Can I take beer across state lines?
By Forinfos - 09/10/2025 - 0 comments
Carolyn Smagalski for BeerLovers warns that laws governing alcohol transport across state lines, or even county lines, vary by location. Whether someone can take beer across state lines depends on the lines crossed. In Mississippi, a person cannot transport alcohol through dry counties, which make up half the state.
Ryan Kraft for MovingGuru suggests researching the state's import, export and tax laws before attempting to transport alcohol to prevent a transporter from getting into legal trouble. Each state’s laws are established in statutes, and most state websites have search functions allowing an interested party to search for the keyword "alcohol" to find relevant laws.
