Where can you find a Borders book store?

Borders bookstore locations no longer exist, as the company went out of business and closed its last location in September 2011. At its peak, Borders was the second-largest bookstore chain in the United States. It had more than 10,000 employees and operated more than 600 stores nationwide.

The size of the company and its stores was a major factor in Borders' closure. Borders was locked into long-term leases for many of its retail locations, forcing the company to keep under-performing stores open. The extensive square footage in each store was meant for a comprehensive stock of books, music and movies. However, the large spaces became a drawback after consumers started downloading most of their media at home and had no need to browse in person.
