Can you get a bunion on your little toe?

Bunions that form on the little toe are known as bunionettes, according to Mayo Clinic. Bunions occur when weight is distributed unevenly over the joints of the foot. The condition is commonly caused by wearing pointy shoes, but it can also be caused by foot stress or injury.
In certain cases, bunions can cause complications such as bursitis, hammertoe or metatarsalgia. Surgery is the only permanent treatment for bunions. The condition can be managed with nonsurgical methods such as medication, shoe inserts or bunion padding. Changing to a shoe with a wider toe box can also provide relief, as noted by WebMD.
