Where can you buy a hand-operated winch?

Wal-Mart, The Home Depot, Northern Tool and Equipment, Harbor Freight and Amazon.com all sell hand-operated winches, as of 2015. Hand-operated winches for use in both marine and standard environments are available in several different sizes and load capacities.

Wal-Mart carries marine and standard hand-operated winches in load ratings from 600 pounds to 2,000 pounds. Most of the units come with a towing strap included. The Home Depot sells a sportsman's winch that comes equipped with a steel cable and can pull up to 1,000 pounds.

Northern Tool carries several models in the 600 to 2,500-pound class, and Amazon.com sells a model rated 3,000 pounds.
