Can cats eat bananas?

According to PetMD, it is safe to give bananas to cats as healthy snacks. Some felines even like the fruit frozen for a special treat. In fact, several fruits and vegetables are acceptable foods for cats.

PetMD states that blueberries, strawberries and watermelons without seeds are acceptable for cats. Cored apples are fine, as well. The seeds and core should not be given to cats because they contain toxic substances. Many vegetables make the "harmless" list, including carrots, green beans, squash, zucchini, lettuce and spinach. Cooked sweet potatoes are fine as long as they are presented without seasoning or butter. Prepared plain potatoes should be limited because they contain large amounts of sugar.
