A person can claim Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) if the individual has savings. However, there are eligibility limitations based on the amount of money the individual has in savings. The applicant must have less than £16,000 in savings in order to be eligible.
JSA applicants must be 18 years of age or older but below State Pension age, not be enrolled in full-time education and currently live in England, Scotland or Wales to be eligible. One must be available for work or actively seeking work, and the applicant must go to a JSA interview. Applicants must not be self employed when they apply.
