Who is Hoda Kotb?

Hoda Kotb is an American news anchor best known for her roles on "Today" and 2015's "Lip Sync Battle." She was born in 1964 and is of Egyptian descent.

Hoda Kotb graduated from Fort Hunt High School in 1982 and went on to attend Virginia Tech where she graduated with a bachelor of arts in broadcast journalism in 1986. Kotb has one brother and one sister and married Burzis Kanga in 2005, but the marriage dissolved in 2007.

Kotb is a breast cancer survivor. Diagnosed in 2007, she underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, and, as of 2015, she is cancer free. "Today" followed her on her journey as she battled the disease.
