Delta allows its customers on certain plans to use any dentist, although dental work performed by a dentist outside the network will end up costing the customer more money. Many Delta customers choose in-network dentists to take full advantage of the coverage.

According to the Delta website, four out of five dentists are included in the Delta network. Generally, a patient can go to any dentist he or she chooses, but this may mean the insurance company will pay lower benefits and that the out-of-pocket expense to the patient will be higher.
