Where can you find a directory of AKC registered dogs?

There is no comprehensive directory of all AKC registered dogs. In 1998, there were more than 1.2 million dogs and 555,000 litters of pups registered with the AKC and 2 million dogs competing in over 15,000 events.

There is a comprehensive directory of AKC recognized breeds, which, for the year 2015, includes 184 registered dog breeds. As an organization that wants to champion all dogs, the AKC offers a Canine Partners program, which permits any mixed-breed dogs or dogs ineligible for AKC registration to compete in AKC-sanctioned events. Canine Partners dogs are breed-designated "All American" and are eligible for AKC events, such as agility, obedience and tracking.
