Can you dismantle a Vornado fan to clean the blades?

Vornado fans are easily dismantled using a screwdriver. The fan blades may also be removed, but it is not necessary unless something becomes entangled in the shaft.

In cleaning the fan, it is important the unit is first turned off and unplugged. A vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment may be used to vacuum the grill, motor cap and inlet ribs. Once the four screws securing the grill are removed, the grill and fan blades may be cleaned with by saturating a rag in water and mild dish-washing soap. After the grill is re-attached, the fan is again ready for use.
