Can dogs eat strawberries?

Dogs can eat strawberries as well as several other types of berries, including blackberries and blueberries. Strawberries pose many health benefits to dogs. Strawberries are high in fiber and vitamin C, and an enzyme in the strawberries can help to whiten a dog's teeth.

Blackberries, blueberries and strawberries help fight free radicals with an abundance of antioxidants. While strawberries are good for dogs, dogs shouldn't eat strawberries in large amounts; too many can upset a dog's stomach. Strawberries are also high in natural sugars.

Dogs should not be allowed to eat cherries, holly berries, juniper berries and mistletoe berries. These types of berries can be hazardous to canines.
