Can you drive with the ABS brake light on?
By Forinfos - 04/03/2026 - 0 comments
It is generally safe to drive with the ABS warning light on. The light indicates that the anti-lock braking system has been deactivated due to a malfunction, but normal braking is still possible.
Although a car can be driven with the ABS warning light on, the ABS system is still necessary for making emergency stops, especially on slippery roads. It is recommended to have the car checked and the cause of the ABS system failure diagnosed as soon as possible. This prevents further damage to the vehicle and harm to the passengers. It is not recommended to drive or use the brakes when the brake and ABS warning lights are both on.
