How can you find an Epiphone serial number?

The serial number for an Epiphone guitar can be found in the F-hole of some guitars. If it is not there, other models have it located behind the headstock.

The first digits or letters in the serial number are usually a code used to indicate the factory where the unit was made. This is followed by the year and month of its manufacture. However the Elite models do not include the month. The remaining digits indicate the ranking of the unit. While the ranking number may be used to tell when that unit was made for that day or run, it does not indicate the total number produced.
