If bed bugs are found, the exterminator implements a treatment, which may include freezing, pesticides or steam heat. Measures may also include efforts to prevent future infestations, such as sealing any crevices that serve as entry points for the bugs.

As of 2015, the cost of exterminating bedbugs ranges from $250 to $900 per room. Repeated treatments may be necessary before an elimination is completely eradicated.
