Can in-floor heating be installed under carpet?

In-floor heating technologies can be installed that function directly beneath carpeting. Companies sell pads that the homeowners or installers roll out along the floor and cover with a tile layer and carpeting. The installer then wires the pads to electricity.
Warmly Yours and ThermoSoft International Corporation sell sub-carpet heating pads, with the former offering two models.
The primary advantage of beneath-carpet heating is the homeowner doesn't need to pour cement, which is necessary for other types of heated flooring. Under-carpet heating is more efficient than water-heated floors because it doesn't require hot water. Additionally, there are no water pipes for the homeowner to worry about leaking.
