Can radiant-heated floors be installed at home?

Radiant-heated floors are installed in homes using tubing that connects to a boiler. The boiler heats the water and transfers it under the floor. Before installation, the homeowner must determine if the flooring can withstand the extra weight that comes with radiant-heated floors.
If a house has a concrete slab flooring, the tubing is placed using a wire mesh and fixed in place. A plastic barrier is located between the ground and the heating tubes. The tubes are then connected to the central boiler and the pumping mechanism. The next step is pouring around 4 to 6 inches of concrete.
