Where can you find a food calories list?

The caloric content of over 8,500 food items can be found by searching the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Nutrient Database, as of 2015. To use the database, a visitor enters one or more terms, receiving a page that lists the search item’s nutritional information, including calories.

For example, after a search for blue cheese, the nutritional values for blue cheese are delivered in several serving-size options, including values per 100 grams, per ounce, per cubic inch and per cup. When reading the table provided for blue cheese on the USDA website, the calories are listed under the Proximates section in the same line with energy and rendered in kcal units.
