Graphs showing annual population growth can be viewed at the World Bank and United States Census Bureau websites. The graph at the World Bank website shows annual population growth as a percentage, whereas the Census Bureau graph shows the actual number, in billions, of people by year.
The Census Bureau graph was updated in 2011 and shows a projected estimate up to the year 2050. By this time, the global population is expected to reach approximately 9.5 billion.
The World Bank graph can be toggled by users to show the population growth by region or income level, along with a number of other indicators.
