Can green beans be eaten in a Paleo diet?

While most people on a Paleo diet are advised to avoid grains and legumes, green beans are an exception and can be consumed, as stated in the Paleo Living Magazine. Unlike other legumes, green beans contain very few harmful proteins, are filled with readily available nutrients, are low in physic acid and are less likely to disrupt the bacteria living in the gut due to the low concentration of lectins and prolamins found.
Green beans are high in essential vitamins and minerals. Each serving contains a high concentration of vitamin C to K, manganese and folate. Green beans are also less likely to cause digestive problems like bloating and gas, as they contain very little galactans.
