Groupon deals are found by signing up at Groupon.com. Daily deals in each user's geographic location are delivered by email to the address provided at the time of sign-up, or they can be viewed on the Groupon website.

At the time of sign-up, new users choose their interests from a list and receive personalized Groupon deals. Most of the deals Groupon offers are for local restaurants and stores, but discounts are also available on select vacation packages and items that are purchased from online shops. In order to redeem a Groupon, users must first purchase the deal from the Groupon website and then present a printed or digital copy when they visit a retailer to redeem it.
