High school students can get part time work at retail stores, grocery stores and restaurants. More unique avenues include local animal shelters and companies that need administrative support.

Part-time jobs abound in the retail or food service industries, including at large department stores and small boutiques, restaurants, fast food joints, and grocery stores. These types of employers often hire people with little to no experience and offer flexible hours.

Additional jobs for students in high school are typically available over the summer break, such as being a camp counselor, lifeguard or babysitter during the day. Other jobs include gardening and walking dogs.
